Equine Sports Massage Therapy (ESMT)

Utilizing various clinical assessments

followed by specific massage techniques,

mobilisation and stretching. These techniques

are non-invasive and, when correctly

administered, will relieve muscle-related

problems before they have chance to result

in injury.

As a fully qualified Human & Equine Sports Massage Therapist I am equipped with the skills to assess, treat & rehabilitate injuires & imbalances in both the human & equine form. Using a variety of specific clinical assessments, I can locate the area of injury or discomfort & offer the correct advice on the treatment and/or rehabilitation. This may well require permission from your doctor (human) or veterinary surgeon (equine) before a treatment can be administered.

Neuromuscular Manipulation (NMM's)

By manupulating various nerves of the horses body system, muscles can be released & tension dispersed quickly with very little discomfort to the horse. This particular treatment can be successfully carried out on dogs in the same way with excellent results. This technique is used as part of my standard assessment & treatment. There are only 3 NMM Practitioners based in the UK.

Deep Oscillation Therapy (DOT)

DEEP OSCILLATION ® is known for its rapid muscle-relaxing and pain-relieving effects, and for its direct effect against mircotrauma (muscle aches). As this treatment is especially gentle it makes for an unmatched

alternative for fresh trauma, postoperative, acute pain and open wounds.

Photonic Therapy (LLLT)

The McLaren Method of Photonic Therapy is a safe, effective & painless scientificaly advanced form of acupuncture. It uses infra-red light to gently stimulate the horse’s own capacity to reduce pain, increase the immune response and promote healing.

All horses can benefit from Equine Sports Massage whether they are a top competition horse or a retired companion. Any activity has the potential to cause muscle soreness and stiffness. Using equine sports massage therapy as part of your horse’s maintenance regime will help prevent injury and increase performance.

A full assessment check: nominal charge of £25.00 depending on location.

A massage treatment inc. assessment will be charged at £55.00 per session.
