About Andrene
Andrene runs a yard at her home in Hampshire where horses are taken for schooling rest and recuperation . She has been around horses for some 40 years and always had a fascination for body mechanics and well being.
Andrene trained in body massage in 1995 and worked on humans mainly sportsmen and women for example tennis players golfers and, polo players in Berkshire. With her daughter gradually improving on the showjumping circuit, Andrene realised the horse were in much need of regular massage therapy, to avoid more complex issues, so she embarked on her training with Equi-Therapy UK.
Helping Your Horse
Horses benefit from contact with humans and for the most part they enjoy their communication with us. Some horses, who may have had bad experiences can benefit from the soothing contact from a therapist to help with their emotional wellbeing. Horses who display nervousness and anxiety often declare problems in the neck and back, where the muscles are tense. Massage can help greatly with this.
Horses who perform in all disciplines, will benefit from a full assessment and a deep tissue massage .
Horses on box rest can enjoy the benefits of massage to allieviate boredom and enhance their daily routine.
Schooling problems e.g. lateral flexion, shortness of stride, unwillingness to work using the back muscles correctly, can all be helped dramatically with muscle therapy.
